THAT'S ENTERTAINMENT: MAVS UNVEIL NEW PROMO PLAN

The Mavericks have teamed with local companies in several
new promotions, according to Andy Dworkin of the DALLAS MORNING
NEWS. Dr Pepper and Southwest Airlines will sponsor the
Funslingers -- a group of six men who entertain fans with balloon
tricks, magic acts, and prize giveaways. The Mavs are also
converting The Mall at Reunion Arena, a court-level concessions
area, into a sports bar area for season-ticket holders on the
floor. Dallas-based Curtis Mathes will donate 10 31-inch TVs,
and in exchange, will get the chance during 12 games to
demonstrate UniView, a device turning TVs into Internet links
(DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 9/23).
