BROWNS FANS CONGREGATE FOR "FINAL PLAY" AT CLEVELAND STADIUM

A two-day event, called "The Final Play -- Foundation for
the Future" took place in Cleveland over the weekend, according
to Jon Morgan of the Baltimore SUN. The event was designed to
"cauterize the still-raw wounds opened" by the Browns' departure
to Baltimore, and begin the NFL's "long process of rehabilitation
in one of its most passionate markets." Cleveland Browns Trust
President Bill Futterer: "The reality is it is time for the
people of Cleveland to get closure of the past and look to the
future." Organizers expected over 100,000 to attend the event
and participate in the "NFL Experience," which was also on hand.
Catalogs were also available for an auction that will take place
this week in which stadium items will be sold (Baltimore SUN,
9/22).
