No one "expected great ratings" for Fox's Saturday MLB
games, so "no one has been disappointed by the results,"
according to Bob Wolfley of the MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL.
Fox's weekly package of regional games has averaged a 2.7 since
it began June 1. Fox Sports Dir of Media Relations Lou
D'Ermilio: "We were running a little higher before the Olympics
hit, we were averaging a 3.0." With two more regular-season
games left, the average Fox rating in Milwaukee has been a 2.8/9.
D'Ermilio says that ranks as the 17th-largest (MILWAUKEE JOURNAL
SENTINEL, 9/20).
RATINGS ROUND-UP: Overall ratings for the 19 World Cup of
Hockey games on SportsChannel NY and MSG Network was 0.3. The
ratings for the three games of the finals were 0.6 (Game One),
1.2 (Two) and 1.1 (Three) (NEWSDAY, 9/20). Game 3 for
SportsChannel Philadelphia earned a 3.4 (PHILA. DAILY NEWS,
9/20)....NFL: NBC's AFC games lead Fox's NFC games 10.1-9.0, both
down from '95. ABC's "Monday Night Football" is up 1% to 16.9
and TNT's down 22% to 7.9 (USA TODAY, 9/20).... Wednesday's
Yankees-Orioles game was the highest rated Yanks game in MSG
Network history with a 7.0 (N.Y. POST, 9/20).
