STADIUM NOTES

     Even though a groundbreaking date has yet to be set, costs
for a new Brewers ballpark have hit $5.2M over the last ten
months.  Costs include over $3M to the stadium's designer, HKS of
Dallas.  The engineering consulting firm, HNTB Corp., has
received $615,409 for site cleanup (MILWAUKEE JOURNAL-SENTINEL,
9/14)....Oakland Coliseum officials said yesterday that the
plumbing problem which shut down their rest rooms during the
Raiders-Jaguars game, has been traced to a water valve that was
shut down by a vandal  (SAN FRANCISCO CHRONICLE, 9/18).....Huber,
Hunt & Nichols, the construction company building the new Bucs
stadium, has been unable to complete a contract with the Tampa
Sports Authority, which could delay construction.  Officials from
the TSA said that the firm does not have the design information
from architects it needs to guarantee the facility will not cost
more than $168M (TAMPA TRIBUNE,9/17).
