FRANCHISE NOTES

Twins Owner Carl Pohlad, on rumors that a group led by Kirby
Puckett is interested in buying 1/3 of the club: "Puckett will
be associated with our family. But as for ownership, we don't
know anything about that. ... Someday we would like to have
public participation in the ownership. But at this point we
haven't applied to the league to go public or made any plans [to
do so]" (Minneapolis STAR-TRIBUNE, 9/16)....The NHL Kings have
hired CO-based International Learning Systems to help train game-
day personnel to treat the team's audience "like a customer at
Disneyland, rather than a customer at a hockey game." No value
for the deal was disclosed, but Kings VP/Business Operations
Lorne Rubis said the pact is for three years (DENVER POST, 9/15).
