     The NY State Athletic Commission has fined SPENCER
PROMOTIONS INC., the firm that promotes RIDDICK BOWE's fights,
$250,000 as a result of the melee following the BOWE-ANDREW
GOLOTA bout July 11.  In addition, Bowe's manager, ROCK NEWMAN,
was barred from attending any Bowe fight in New York for a year,
and Spencer Senior VP BERNARD BROOKS, SR. must resign from
Spencer for one year.  Both New Jersey and Nevada indicated they
will implement NY's ruling (WASHINGTON POST, 8/30)....DR. GEORGE
L. COLLINS, JR., who was an original and current member of the
Sabres Board of Directors, died Wednesday after a long illness
(Sabres). ...Bulls forward JUD BUECHLER will compete as a
wildcard entry with veteran AL JANC at the Miller Lite/AVP Tour
Championships in Chicago this weekend (AVP)....CISL Dallas
Sidekicks superstar TATU has taken a job as a first-year PE
instructor and soccer coach at The Highlands, a private school in
Las Colinas, TX (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 8/29).
