OLYMPIC NOTES

In a SEATTLE TIMES survey, conducted by The Gilmore Research
Group, 63% of the 400 Seattle residents contacted favor having
the Puget Sound area host the Olympic Games. Twenty-four percent
opposed the idea, and the rest had no opinion (SEATTLE TIMES,
8/18)....IOC VP Dick Pound is profiled in the TORONTO SUN. Jean
Sonmor writes of Pound's "negotiating skills, his strategic
thinking and his clarity of thought have made the IOC wealthy in
a way that was beyond imagining when he took over the TV rights
and marketing strategy in the early '80's" (TORONTO SUN, 8/18).
