     Cox Interactive Sales, a division of TeleRep, will represent
the World Wide Web sports network SportsLine USA (AD AGE,
8/16)....Fox Senior Coord. Producer John Filippelli, on Fox's
Saturday MLB: "I've worked 17 years at NBC, 12 or 13 on the Game
of the Week, and while we did very fine work, it's nothing
compared to what we've been able to do over these last 11 weeks.
... We think we're raising the bar" (ATLANTA CONSTITUTION,
8/16).....CNN's "NFL Preview" premieres Sunday at 11:00am, with
host Vince Cellini, analysts James Lofton and Ron Meyer, and
information by SI's Peter King.  Exec Producer Jean McCormick
said the show will focus on news.  McCormick: "We're news first
and we're information and hard core analysis" (Baltimore SUN,
8/16).  King was paid $250,000 for his halftime job on "Monday
Night Football," which lasted one year when he wasn't asked to
return.  ABC's use of King was the focus of a verbal dispute
between ABC's Al Michaels and SI's Mark Mulvoy.  CNN Sports
Senior VP Jim Walton: "Monday Night Football's a success, but I
would have used Peter differently" (USA TODAY, 8/16)....In their
second quarter results, Liberty Media Corp.'s various sports
interests, including their new joint venture with News Corp.,
posted quarterly revenues of $82M, compared with $79M last year
(INSIDE MEDIA ONLINE, 8/16)....ESPN and ESPN2 announcer Suzy
Kolber will reportedly sign with Fox Sports News, Fox Sports
Net's nightly news show (L.A. DAILY NEWS, 8/16)....WPIX Channel
11-New York purchased the last 9,000 tickets to assure live
coverage of the annual Jets-Giants pre-season game Saturday night
(N.Y. POST, 8/16)....N.Y. POST columnist Phil Mushnick notes Fox
execs "are mumbling that baseball studio man Dave Winfield either
has to get better -- and fast," or he won't be asked back next
year (N.Y. POST, 8/16)....SportsChannel New York signed Stan
Fischler to a multi-year contract extension (GOULD MEDIA
SERVICES, 8/15)....The Mighty Ducks and Prime Sports West agreed
on a multi-year extension to their TV deal, running through 2000-
01 (Prime Sports West)....Ed Randall's "Talking Baseball"
received new backing and returned to SportsChannel.  The show was
off the air since March after eight years and 450 shows (THE
DAILY).
