MEDIA NOTES

     Turner Sports said it may drop of few of the Heat's
scheduled ten telecasts if the team gets off to a slow start now
that they've lost Juwan Howard.  NBC has no plans to drop any of
its five Heat telecasts despite Howard's departure (MIAMI HERALD,
8/14)....Red Sox GM Dan Duquette will be featured in the Red Sox
first ever series of live, on-chat sessions.  Duquette will be
online this Sunday at 5:00pm at http://www.redsox.com (Red
Sox)....Former Twin Kirby Puckett will join ABC Sports and ESPN
as an analyst for coverage of the Little League World Series this
month from South Williamsport, PA (Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE,
8/15). ...Time Warner and TBS said they have signed a consent
order with the FTC staff, "setting the stage for the agency to
vote on the proposed merger as early as next week (HOLLYWOOD
REPORTER, 8/15)....In an examination of cable channels "feeling
the squeeze" from new media "powerhouses" needing clearance for
new channels, USA TODAY's David Lieberman notes some channels may
be "vulnerable" to being left off carriers.  Channels noted as
"vulnerable" include Lifetime and The Nashville Network (USA
TODAY, 8/15)....NYC-based CompuSport Inc, has announced Smart
Football, the first ever World Wide Web site dedicated to Ivy
League Football.  It is located at www.ivyball.com (CompuSport).
