NFL NEWS & NOTES: SAINTS MAY NEED TO REVISIT NEW LOOK

     The Saints will contact NFL Senior VP/Broadcasting Val
Pinchbeck to see what can be done concerning problems TV cameras
have picking up the gold numbers on the Saints new white jersey.
The problem arose during the Saints-Colts Hall of Fame Game
Saturday, with Saints officials agreeing it was "equally
difficult" to pick up numbers on TV and game film later.  The new
white jersey commemorates the Saints anniversary season (New
Orleans TIMES-PICAYUNE, 7/29).
     FOOTBALL NOTES:  The Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton,
OH, has entered the sports marketing business "in a big way"
(Gordon Forbes, USA TODAY, 7/30)....In the NFL's '96 Record &
Fact book, the Ravens are presented as a team with no history and
no records, according to the Cleveland PLAIN DEALER's Tony
Grossi.  The Baltimore section does not identify Art Modell as
owning the Browns, referring only to his "previous franchise"
(Cleveland PLAIN DEALER, 7/28).
