REMEMBER, CHANGE IS GOOD: NIKE BREAKS GROUND ON EXPANSION

Nike has broken ground on a "massive, 1.1 million square-
foot expansion" of its Beaverton, OR, headquarters, according to
Jeff Manning of the Portland OREGONIAN. The company is clearing
land for four office buildings, a product building, a conference
center and a second athletic facility. No cost was revealed on
the development, but Manning notes, "It's at least $100 million
and probably considerably more than that." The new construction
will more than double Nike's existing space and will hold over
2,000 employees (Portland OREGONIAN, 7/23).
