ESPN CHILTON SPORTS POLL: TAKING THE PULSE OF THE GAMES

     ESPN/Chilton Sports poll interviewed 1,700+ U.S. respondents
from May 1 '96 through July 1 '96 on the Olympic Games.  Overall,
55.3% prefer Summer Games to Winter Games:

Diving 7.6
     39.7% are at least little more likely to buy a product or
service if company is an Olympic sponsor.
     43.7% said whether or not a company is an Olympic sponsor
does not influence purchasing decisions.
     64.3% believe it is at least a little bit important that
they Olympic rings appear on a product in order to associate that
company with Olympic sponsorship.  27% feel it is very
important.
