STADIUM NOTES

     NATIONAL SPEED SPORT NEWS cites unconfirmed reports that the
Penske organization has acquired a large parcel of land next to
its Michigan Int'l Speedway to be used for an NHRA drag strip
(NSSN, 7/17)....The Lightning will help market the AFL Storm in
exchange for an unspecified percentage of Storm ticket sales when
the football team plays at the Ice Palace next year (TAMPA
TRIBUNE, 7/19). ...Steelers President Dan Rooney announced a deal
between the team and Conroy Companies of Greenwich, CT, for the
development of a multi-use sports complex that will include an
amphitheater for live entertainment, an NFL-themed sports center
in Pittsburgh and an interactive entertainment center possibly
linked to the Carnegie Science Center (Steelers).
