     News Corp. is looking to acquire New World Communications
for about $2.4B.  The purchase of New World's 10 TV stations, all
Fox affiliates, would make News Corp. the biggest station owner
in the U.S., reaching 40% of all homes.  It would also give Fox
"an unrivaled platform to launch and promote new shows" (WALL
STREET JOURNAL, 7/17). ....Prime Sports announced the hiring of
the Tacher Company to be exclusive ad representative in the state
of OR (Prime Sports)....Fox Sports Net announced its college
football package.  More than 30 games from the Pac-10 conference,
as well as Conference USA and the Big 12 will be offered on the
system (Fox Sports Net)....The S.F. Giants' Web site at
www.sfgiants.com offers fans a panoramic view of 3Com Park from
various seats.  Since going online, more than 2,000 fans have
visited that area (S.F. CHRONICLE, 7/16).
