OLYMPIC NOTES

NationsBank Corp.'s plans to leverage its official
sponsorship of the Atlanta Games is examined in the CHARLOTTE
BUSINESS JOURNAL. One effort includes spending $315,000 on
advertising for billboards at MARTA train stations and wrap-
around Olympic photos with bank logos on city buses (CHARLOTTE
BUSINESS JOURNAL, 7/15)....An "icon for women's basketball"
during her '94-'95 season at Connecticut, Rebecca Lobo has been
reduced to "a small-time role player for the U.S. women's Olympic
team," reports Scott Kauffman of the ORLANDO SENTINEL (OS,
7/12)....The N.Y. POST's Phil Mushnick writes that NBC and the
IOC have "blundered in scheduling" the first four Dream Team
games to begin at 10 p.m.. Mushnick: "Once again, the rush to
maximize prime time ratings, coast to coast, will leave millions
of kids out. Good. It's the kind of TV programming that will
stunt their growth" (N.Y. POST, 7/12).
