OAKLAND EYES NEW PLAN TO PUSH SOFT RAIDERS PSL PLANS

The Oakland Football Marketing Association announced a new
plan to sell tickets to Raiders games, according to Ron Kroichick
of the SAN FRANCISCO CHRONICLE. The OFMA now plans to sell
season tickets without requiring customers to first buy a PSL.
This "comes with some restrictions: Notably, you must know a PSL
holder to qualify for the season-ticket offer." Also, anyone
buying a '96 season ticket, priced at $410, $510, and $610, can
"renew for '97 only by purchasing a PSL." Raiders Exec Al
LoCasale: "The idea is to jump start a relatively stalled PSL
program." Approximately 39,000 PSLs have been sold so far, while
marketing officials said they need to sell 45,000 for the city
and county to break even on bonds purchased to finance stadium
renovations (S.F. CHRONICLE, 7/12).
