STADIUM NOTES

     The TAMPA TRIBUNE's Joe Henderson writes as long as U.S.
Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan's (D-NY) bill that would stop cities
from issuing tax-free bonds for stadiums "has even a chance of
becoming a law" it could add $1.5M to $2M a year to the cost of a
new Bucs stadium (TAMPA TRIBUNE, 7/12)....The BOSTON GLOBE notes
a conversation between Providence Civic Center Exec Dir Steve
Lombardi and Delaware North President Richard Stephens.  Sources
close to Lombardi indicate the meeting was about filling the
vacant head position at the FleetCenter (BOSTON GLOBE, 7/11).
...Following a "very cordial" meeting with VA Gov. George Allen,
Fairfax County Supervisor Robert Dix has decided not to resign
from the Virginia Baseball Stadium Authority (WASHINGTON POST,
7/12).
