STADIUM NOTES

     During renovation next season, Anaheim Stadium's capacity
will drop from 64,593 to somewhere between 25,000 and 35,000,
according to Tony Tavares, President of Disney Sports Enterprises
Inc.  Of the 44 home games this season, the Angels have drawn
more than 25,000 fifteen times (ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER,
7/9)....The Stars announced the StarCenter Division of the hockey
club will build and operate at least three more skating
facilities in North Texas, in an effort to develop grassroots
skating in that region (Stars)....Mets Co-Owner Fred Wilpon says
if a proposed new stadium is built on schedule, hosting an All-
Star game around 2000 is possible (N.Y. TIMES, 7/10)....The Lions
expect to decide by the end of the month whether to commit to a
new downtown stadium or to stay at the Silverdome (DETROIT NEWS,
7/10). ....The Sacramento Assembly voted 53-8 to back the
formation of a regional Ballpark Authority (SACRAMENTO BEE, 7/8).
