     The Mavericks reportedly are increasing ticket prices, some
as high as 80% for the '96-97 season.  For the past four years,
the team has frozen ticket prices for customers who had owned
tickets since the teams inception in '80 (FT. WORTH STAR-
TELEGRAM, 6/21)...The N.Y. POST's Peter Vecsey notes that former
Bullets GM John Nash will be named the Nets GM and work with
coach John Calipari (N.Y. POST, 6/21). ...The Celtics were the
recipient of the second annual Pro Team Community Award by the
World Sports Humanitarian Hall of Fame for having the most
effective community program of all pro teams (Celtics).....76ers
President Pat Croce is featured in the current SI along with a
photo of him driving a Harley down the Main Line outside
Philadelphia.  Croce: "No one has the passion I do.  No one has
the pride.  I'm the one who's going to bring a winner to
Philadelphia.  I know it" (SI, 6/24 issue)....Richmond is being
considered for an International Basketball League franchise, the
newly formed minor league men's league scheduled to begin play in
November '97 (RICHMOND TIMES DISPATCH, 6/20).
