OTHER MEDIA NOTES

     For the fourth consecutive year, Prime Sports will televise
the CISL, distributing a minimum of 15 games during the '96
season to its regional affiliates.  The package includes a game-
of-the-week, the All-Star Game and the Championship game
(CISL)....Fox carries the World Bowl live from Edinburgh,
Scotland, on June 23.  fX, Fox's cable partner, provides an hour
of pregame coverage at 12:00pm.  Pregame and halftime segments
will offer previews on the upcoming NFL season (Fox)....Comcast
Corp., the nation's 4th largest cable operator and owner of the
Flyers, 76ers and Philadelphia's two arenas, wants shareholder
approval to maintain three classes of stock.  There has been talk
of a spinoff of one of Comcast's business units (BROADCASTING &
CABLE, 6/17 issue)....TCI's board has authorized a spinoff of the
company's direct broadcast satellite business, TCI Satellite
Entertainment (TCI)....AT&T has extended its marketing territory
for its DBS venture with DirecTV and USSB to include FL, CA, IL,
MD, MI, TX, VA and DC (TAMPA TRIBUNE, 6/19)....Charles Dolan,
Chair of Cablevision Systems Corp., was elected Chair of the
National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (INSIDE MEDIA
ONLINE, 6/19).... Westinghouse Chair & CEO Michael Jordan says he
is willing to pay "a lot" to bring the NFL back to CBS -- "in any
way, shape, manner or form" ("Sports View," CNBC, 6/18).

On this week’s pod, SBJ’s Austin Karp has two Big Get interviews. The first is with TNT’s Stan Van Gundy as he breaks down the NBA Playoffs from the booth. Later in the show, we hear from ESPN’s VP of Programming and Acquisitions Tim Reed as the NFL Draft gets set to kick off on Thursday night in Motown.
