CORPORATE WORLD OF ROGER PENSKE EXPLORED BY N.Y. TIMES

The multi-billion dollar "transportation empire" of ROGER PENSKE was examined by the N.Y. TIMES on Sunday. In addition to the publicly traded Penske Motorsports Inc. (which includes speedways in MI, CA and PA), he also owns the Penske Truck Leasing Company, the Detroit Diesel Corporation, a chain of auto- repair shops recently purchased from Kmart Corporation, and a number of auto dealerships in Southern CA. Penske, on his success: "I don't think anyone is lucky. All luck is based on hard work and being in a position to execute" (Edward Wyatt, N.Y. TIMES, 5/26).
