OLYMPIC NEWS & NOTES: READY, SET, STARTER SHOP TILL YOU DROP

     On Saturday, Atlanta resident Tim Foote will go on a 60-
second Starter Olympic products shopping spree aided by gold
medalist Florence Griffith Joyner and husband, gold medalist, Al
Joyner.  Foote won the "Starter Shopping Sprint" Sweeps held at
Macy's stores.  Starter is both a ACOP and USOC licensee
(Starter)...Visa's role as a TOP Olympic sponsor is profiled in
today's WALL STREET JOURNAL (WALL STREET JOURNAL, 5/24)....ESPN's
Randy Harvey, on the oven-like conditions expected in Atlanta for
the Olympics: "When Atlanta's chief organizer Billy Payne bid for
the Games, he told the [IOC] that the average temperature in
Atlanta in July and August was 72.  He didn't tell them he was
talking about 4am" ("SportsCenter," ESPN, 5/23).
