WOLFF NOSING AROUND ASTROS DEAL

Astros Owner Drayton McLane Jr. has held discussions with a
group led by developer and auto dealer David Wolff over
purchasing roughly 20% of the team, according to John Williams of
the HOUSTON CHRONICLE. Wolff declined to give details saying
there are "no serious negotiations at this time," but a "key" to
his continued interest is whether a new ballpark will be built
for the Astros. McLane, who claims to have lost over $60M in the
last three seasons, wants to sell a percent of the team to cover
losses. Out of the 40 potential investors McLane began talking
with in January, only Wolff remains (HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 5/23).
