BIG DEAL FOR BIG SPORTS: NBA INKS BIG SPORTS TO KOREA DEAL

     The NBA and Big Sports Co., Ltd., yesterday signed an
agreement designating Big Sports as the NBA's official
distributor, licensee, and retailer of officially licensed NBA
consumer products in Korea.  As part of the deal, the NBA and Big
Sports will launch a new retail store concept called "The NBA
Shop."  They will be the first and only authorized NBA retail
shops of their kind in Korea, and will be the only place where
Korean customers can purchase authentic, licensed NBA branded
apparel.  The first 15 stores will open next month in and around
the Seoul area.  More stores will open in other major cities over
the summer with an expected 120 stores opened by '97 (NBA Asia,
Ltd).
