FIRST EVENT HELD IN ATLANTA'S OLYMPIC STADIUM

The Olympic stadium got a good "workout" from fans and
organizers Saturday who, for the most part, praised the way it
"felt and operated" during the Atlanta Grand Prix track meet,
according to the ATLANTA CONSTITUTION. Lines were "short or
nonexistent" as an ample supply of MARTA buses shuttled people
quickly between the stadium and the station downtown. At lunch,
waits at the most popular concession stands were seldom longer
than 5 minutes. There were some problems with electronic
equipment. Also, some groups had to move seats because they were
obstructed by cameras and kiosks (Michelle Hiskey, ATLANTA
CONSTITUTION, 5/19).
