NAMES IN THE NEWS

     Through multiple lawsuits, JOY MCCANN CULVERHOUSE, widow of
late Bucs Owner HUGH CULVERHOUSE, has sued the three trustees
charged with managing her husband's estate.  In one suit, she
claims attorney FRED CONE, JR. tricked her into giving up her
rights to half of the Culverhouse $350M estate.  In a separate
action, she accuses Cone and fellow trustees JACK DONLAN and
STEVE STORY of improperly taking a $1.45M bonus each for selling
the Bucs to MALCOLM GLAZER for $192M (TAMPA TRIBUNE,
5/11)....GLAZER, meanwhile, has been sued by Zapata Corp.
stockholders in an attempt to block the company's planned
acquisition of Houlihan's Restaurant Group (TAMPA TRIBUNE,
5/12)....In an attempt to "revive" the Argonauts, the club signed
DOUG FLUTIE to a contract which makes him the highest paid player
in the CFL.  The deal includes a package of incentives, signing
bonuses and a personal services agreement which reportedly could
net Flutie nearly $2M over two years (WASHINGTON POST, 5/11)....
The Joe Namath-like excitement surrounding the Jets selection of
wide receiver KEYSHAWN JOHNSON is examined by NEW YORK magazine's
Thomas Hackett (NEW YORK, 5/15 issue).
