     A Mercedes-Benz worth more than $130,000 on loan to
Georgetown sophomore ALLEN IVERSON from a local car dealer may
not be permitted under NCAA rules.  If the NCAA rules the loan
was made because of Iverson's status as an athlete, his
eligibility could be jeopardized should he decide to his return
for his junior season (WASHINGTON POST, 4/27).... Philadelphia
high school star KOBE BRYANT is scheduled to announce today his
intentions to go to college or straight to the NBA (PHILA. DAILY
NEWS, 4/29)....Venerable rock icon ALICE COOPER threw out the
first pitch in Detroit for the Tigers/A's game Saturday
("SportsCenter," ESPN, 4/27).... Ravens Owner ART MODELL is being
treated at the Cleveland Clinic in South FL for a blood
infection.  The illness is not believed to be serious (Baltimore
SUN, 4/29)....MIKE DUNLEAVY was fired as head coach of the Bucks.
He will remain as team GM ("SportsCenter," ESPN, 4/27)....MIKE
TYSON has been cleared of sexual assault charges according to the
lawyer of the women who accused Tyson of biting her lip and
fondling her in a Chicago nightclub (Mult., 4/27).
