IF WHALERS JUMP SHIP, WILL AHL BE NEXT ON BOARD?

The chances of the AHL moving to New Haven, CT are "slim"
writes Michael Arace in the HARTFORD COURANT. The NEW HAVEN
REGISTER printed a story Thursday that said a group of investors
has reached an agreement "in principle" to bring an AHL team to
the New Haven Coliseum, but sources, including AHL president Dave
Andrews, refute the claim. However, Andrews noted that if the
Whalers move, New Haven would be a good AHL market, and Penguins
Owner Howard Baldwin is interested in placing a minor league team
in Hartford if the Whalers move (Hartford COURANT, 4/26).
