CAR RENTAL TAX OK'D IN ATLANTA; KNIGHTS/HAWKS TALK ARENA

     GA Gov. Zell Miller signed car rental tax legislation of
which almost proceeds will help pay for improvements around the
proposed arena for the Hawks.  Hawks officials met with officials
of the IHL Knights to discuss issues affecting the future of the
hockey team in Atlanta.  Knights President Richard Adler has said
he would move the team to Quebec City if the Hawks don't decide
by next Wednesday where to build their new arena.  The Hawks told
Adler they would not be able to meet his deadline.  William Shaw,
VP/Administration for TBS: "We understand Adler has a timetable,
but we have a timetable, too."  The "key issue" is whether to
knock down the Omni and build a new arena there, or to put it in
the nearby railroad gulch.  If the Omni is destroyed, the Knights
would be without a home after the '97 season (Unger & Maloof,
