REEBOK TO SELL ITS AVIA GROUP INTERNATIONAL SUBSIDIARY

     Reebok International Ltd. announced it has signed a letter
of intent with American Sporting Goods Corp. for the sale of
Reebok subsidiary, the Avia Group International.  In January,
Reebok retained CS First Boston as an investment advisor to
assist in the sale of Avia.  Reebok says the sale will help the
company focus on its core brands.  The Irvine, CA-based American
Sporting Goods Corp. owns and markets the Turntec and Nevados
brands and holds the U.S. license for Ocean Pacific footwear.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed (WALL STREET JOURNAL, 4/24).
The deal is expected to be closed by the end of May (N.Y. TIMES,
4/24).
