THE HEAT GUARANTEE PAYMENT OF $5.5M ON NEW ARENA

     The Heat have agreed to guarantee Dade County a payment of
$5.5M a year if a new arena is built on Biscayne Bay in downtown
Miami, according to Don Finefrock of the MIAMI HERALD.  The
guarantee "eliminates some -- but not all of the uncertainty
surrounding the county's" $210M arena financing plan.  Dade
leaders "are counting" on the $5.5M to make debt payments on the
new arena (MIAMI HERALD, 4/21).
