center ALONZO MOURNING remains outside the scope of an FBI
investigation which led to a search and seizure at his Potomac,
MD home, an FBI spokesperson said he might be called as a witness
in the case (MIAMI HERALD, 4/18).... ESPN's NFL Draft expert MEL
KIPER, JR., Patriots QB DREW BLEDSOE, Lions WR HERMAN MOORE and
Bengals RB KI-JANA CARTER will all play minor roles as themselves
in the movie "Jerry Maguire," a comedy starring TOM CRUISE as a
sports agent (TSN, 4/22)....The "stress-driven grinder" lifestyle
of Orioles GM PAT GILLICK is the subject of a feature article by
TSN's MICHAEL GEFFNER (THE SPORTING NEWS, 4/22). ....In a move
designed to quell recent bad publicity, Reds Owner MARGE SCHOTT
has decided to open Riverfront Stadium 30 minutes earlier before
weekend games (HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 4/19)....Sports agent EDWARD
KEATING passed away Thursday at his home in Cleveland at the age
of 54.  His clients over the years included ARNOLD PALMER, DICK
BUTKUS and DENNIS ECKERSLY (Mult., 4/19).
