     Only 5,192 fans attended the IHL Orlando Solar-Bears'
playoff opener on Wednesday.  GM Don Waddell: "I was very
disappointed and very frustrated.  All year long you talk about
family affordable and family entertainment, and you try to play a
Wednesday game.  You just can't get families out" (ORLANDO
SENTINEL, 4/19)....The Class A Delmarva Shorebirds, owned in part
by chicken mogul Frank Perdue, had a sell-out in their home
opener.  Fans filled the 5,200-seat Arthur W. Perdue Stadium,
named after Frank's father (WASHINGTON POST, 4/19)....Along with
three other teams, the Royals are considering moving their spring
training facility to Henderson, NV, adjacent to Las Vegas (K.C.
STAR, 4/19).
