Indianapolis 500 merchandise.  Target is a sponsor of the U.S.
500 (NATIONAL SPEED SPORT NEWS, 4/17 issue)....Jeff Manning
writes that by signing likely NFL No. 1 pick Keyshawn Johnson,
Adidas is "finally getting aggressive about signing high-profile
athletes" (Portland OREGONIAN, 4/17)....The Sea-Doo/Ski-Doo
Division of the Bombardier Motor Corp. of America has signed on
as an associate sponsor of the PPG Firestone Indy Lights
Championship for the '96 season (Bombardier)....Coca-Cola
reported a 12% increase in net income for the first quarter.
Coca-Cola says the sales boost is the result of its global
Olympic advertising and marketing push (ATLANTA CONSTITUTION,
4/18)...USA TODAY's Susan Wloszcyna, on the NBA's actors:
"Hollywood is hoopla over hoops, with five films about the game
or starring [NBA] players coming out this year" (USA TODAY,
4/18).
