NASCAR MULTICAR SPONSORSHIP EXAMINED IN RICHMOND

Five years ago, the multi-car team concept in NASCAR "was a
joke," now multi-car shops are "the wave of the future,"
according to the RICHMOND TIMES-DISPATCH. Because of the
popularity of NASCAR, big companies are coming to the top car
owners with "unbelievable offers." Also, with the "chaos" in
IndyCar, car owners say they are hearing from companies that once
exclusively backed Indy cars. Many owners see multi-car NASCAR
teams as a simple economic move. Instead of going back to the
primary sponsor for more, you expand your operation and sell what
amounts to a new team to a new sponsor (Ben Blake, RICHMOND
TIMES-DISPATCH, 4/16).
