ESPN LAUNCHES "STICK IT AND WIN!" PROMOTION FOR THE X GAMES

     ESPN expects more than 21 million subscribers to participate
in its "Stick It and Win!" affiliate promotion to support the
second annual X Games June 24-30 in RI.  This year's promotion,
which features both a guaranteed local prize package and a grand
prize trip for two to this year's X Games, enjoys nearly a 50%
increase in participation by local cable operators over last
year's effort, which totaled 13.6 million subscribers.  ESPN
Senior VP/Affiliate Sales and Marketing Patrick Mellon:
"Operators will be able to attract new product categories to
local ad sales efforts and have the opportunity to leverage
national sponsors' ad buys on ESPN and ESPN2."  Affiliates that
take part get a kit from ESPN with bumper stickers, a point-of-
purchase display, posters and taggable on-air spots (ESPN).
