violating a gag order forbidding him to speak about his drug

SHAPIRO, who represents CAL RIPKEN, EDDIE MURRAY and KIRBY
PUCKETT, has founded the Shapiro Negotiations Institute with
fellow lawyer MARK JANKOWSKI.  The Institute is designed to teach
corporate managers "how to make a deal" (HOUSTON CHRONICLE,
4/14).... ....Jazz forward KARL MALONE appeared on the "Tonight
Show" Friday.  Malone, on Charles Barkley running for Governor of
Alabama:  "Charles is just too honest.  He's going to tell the
people the truth about what he thinks about them and I think
somebody's going to try to assassinate him."  Malone on a post-
NBA acting career:  "I want to be the black Rambo" (NBC,
4/12)....MLS Chair ALAN ROTHENBERG has become the first American
member of the CONCACAF Exec Committee, which gives him one of
five seats on the regional soccer authority's board (BOSTON
GLOBE, 4/14)....USA Today has named MONTE LORELL, former Managing
Editor/Page One, as new Managing Editor/Sports.  He replaces GENE
POLICINSKI, who left the paper to pursue other interests (USA
Today).
