BLUE JAYS TO GO HOLLYWOOD?

Interbrew S.A. may have found a potential buyer for the Blue
Jays in Zoetrope Studios, once owned by director Francis Ford
Coppola, according to Bob Elliot of the TORONTO SUN. Since
purchasing Labatt in July '95, which owns 90% of the Jays,
Interbrew has been looking to sell both the Jays and the Argos.
Zoetrope Studios, now owned by Calgary real estate entrepreneur
Jack Singer, is the only group to show interest thus far. In
'83, Singer, along with L.A.-based producer Michael Shapiro,
attempted to buy the Royals for $20M. Although he wouldn't
comment if the company has made an offer for the Jays, Alan
Singer, Jack's son, admitted, "We have expressed interest all
along" (TORONTO SUN, 4/15).
