ATLANTA COLUMNIST CLAIMS MASTERS COULD BE HEADED OFF CBS

"This is the 41st, and possibly last year for the Masters on
CBS," according to Prentis Rogers in this morning's ATLANTA
CONSTITUTION. Rogers, who doesn't cite any sources, writes that
the "relationship between the Masters and CBS isn't what it once
was," and that Augusta National Chair Jack Stephens "is not close
to new Masters television host Jim Nantz like he was to Pat
Summerall," who left CBS for Fox. Rogers writes that if the
tournament moves, "look for NBC to be the destination" (ATLANTA
CONSTITUTION, 4/12). USA TODAY's Rudy Martzke notes the CBS
team, led by longtime analyst Ken Venturi, "took the first big
step Thursday in squelching speculation that Masters officials
might consider ABC and NBC" (USA TODAY, 4/12). In Minneapolis,
Rachel Blount notes Masters officials have proven in the past
that "tradition means much more than money, a quaint thought in
today's TV sports world" (Minneapolis STAR-TRIBUNE, 4/12).
