THE MOOSE IS LOOSE OUT OF MINNESOTA AND OFF TO WINNIPEG

     The IHL Moose will "become a footnote on the Minnesota
sports scene" after this weekend when they become the second pro
hockey team to leave the state in three years.  At the beginning
of this season, the Moose hoped their move to play some games at
the Target Center would increase exposure and, increase success.
But the decision in December by Owner Kevin MacLean to sell half-
interest in the club to Winnipeg investors and move the Moose to
Winnipeg after this season "doomed the team to financial and fan-
support failure."  The Moose, in trying to boost attendance this
weekend, is giving fans wearing black a $3 discount on any lower
