TRADING CARD COMPANY PROFILED ON "NIGHTLINE"

The fallout on recent sports league work stoppages on the
trading card industry was examined by ABC's "Nightline" on
Tuesday night. While competitor Topps cut 200 workers during the
strike and Fleer shut down its plant on the day after
Thanksgiving, ABC's Robert Krulwich reports that privately-held
Pinnacle went with a different approach: "No cuts, no salary
reductions." Pinnacle Chair & CEO Jerry Meyers "pulled his
employees together and said the only way you're going to keep
your job is for you to produce." Meyers: "If you don't drive
results, I'm sorry, I bet you don't end up staying here"
("Nightline," ABC, 4/9).
