SHAKING THE PALM TREE: TAGLIABUE TO FLORIDA TO LOBBY ON BUCS

     NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue will be in Tallahassee
Monday to testify before the FL Senate Commerce Committee and
lobby legislators to approve a referendum to help the Bucs fund a
new stadium.  Tagliabue will possibly meet with a key Senator who
has delayed hearing a bill that would approve the referendum on a
5% car-rental tax to help fund a portion of a $168M stadium for
the Bucs (Kevin Metz,  TAMPA TRIBUNE, 4/11).  State Rep. John
Grant from Tampa said Tagliabue will promise a Super Bowl in a
new Tampa Stadium in '99 or 2000 (Paul Wilborn, ST. PETERSBURG
TIMES, 4/11).  A TAMPA TRIBUNE editorial criticizes the
Legislature for holding up the referendum (TAMPA TRIBUNE, 4/11).
