THE ONLY THING HIGHER THAN FINAL FOUR TIX PRICE: MEDIA HYPE

CBS will air a 90-minute pregame show before tipoff of the
NCAA basketball semifinals on Saturday. Guest analysts will
include Duke's Mike Krzyzewski, UCLA's Jim Harrick, Utah's Rick
Majerus and G.W. coach Mike Jarvis (CBS). ...Richard Sandomir
notes in this morning's N.Y. TIMES that CBS will emphasize New
York -- not host state NJ. Sandomir writes, "When CBS
establishes where the Final Four is being played, it will in all
likelihood make believe the Continental Arena is in Manhattan
(N.Y. TIMES, 3/29). ...CBS's Sean McDonough denies any "snit"
between he and Michelle Tafoya when he returned from an illness
during last weekend's Midwest Regional. McDonough: "It's
blatantly not true. I had just come from throwing up in the
bathroom. I was sweaty, clammy and weak in the legs. I don't
think I had enough energy and enthusiasm to be in a snit." ... In
Atlanta, Prentis Rogers notes that TNT, which has suspended its
Friday coverage of the NBA the past two weeks to avoid a head-to-
head matchup with the NCAA Men's tournament, will take on the
Women's Final Four tonight, with a Dallas-San Antonio matchup
(ATLANTA CONSTITUTION, 3/29).
