     Michael Jordan's Golf Store will officially open this
evening on the Magnificent Mile in Water Tower Place in Chicago
(THE DAILY)....At least 75 Red Wing hockey puck promotional
displays have been stolen from Burger King counters in the
Detroit area.  The thefts happened after stores ran out of the
$3.49 pucks being used in a promotional campaign.  Pictures of
Red Wings Steve Yzerman, Keith Primeau, Chris Osgood and Paul
Coffey are printed on the pucks and they have started to show up
at trade shows with prices "two or three time higher than at
Burger King."  Each restaurant carries 300-500 pucks a week
(DETROIT NEWS, 3/29)....Callaway Golf Co. has settled suits
against Ultimate Golf and Strokes' Franchising Inc., which
allegedly sold illegal copies of Callaway equipment (TAMPA
TRIBUNE, 3/29)....Andrew Levy, a professor at Butler University,
has complained that the design on a t-shirt displayed at
Chicago's Nike Town is "too much like swastikas to ignore."  The
shirt was printed for the store's '92 opening and the image is
supposed to evoke both runners and construction workers.  Nike
spokesperson Lee Weinstein: "This guy is using an overactive
imagination to make an extreme intellectual point.  We don't see
anything there" ("Scorecard," SI, 4/1 issue)....According to the
'96 "Golf Facilities in the U.S.," an annual study by the
National Golf Foundation, the state of Michigan ranks first in
the number of new golf courses under construction and new-course
openings for the second consecutive year,  (CRAIN'S DETROIT
BUSINESS, 3/25 issue)....Reflect Sun Block has signed with World
TeamTennis, becoming "Official Sun Block" of the Prince/WTT
Recreational League (WTT)....Joan Jett is releasing a full-length
version of "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" theme song for play on the
radio.  The song is now used in ads for ESPN's NCAA women's
basketball coverage (USA TODAY, 3/29)....Jostens and the Braves
will unveil the Braves' '95 World Series rings today (Jostens).
