STADIUM NOTES

     A construction technique called "fast track" will ensure
DC's new MCI Center is completed by October '97 (WASHINGTON POST,
3/18). ....In Atlanta, Dave Kindred writes instead of selling
naming rights, the Braves should name their new stadium after
Henry Aaron (ATLANTA CONSTITUTION, 3/17)....Dade County leaders
and Heat Owner Micky Arison met Friday to talk about building a
new arena in downtown Miami (MIAMI HERALD, 3/16)....Dave
Orlowski, Senior VP of K.C. architectural firm Ellerbe Becket, on
whether three local firms (Ellerbe Becket, HOK and HNTB) can work
together to design a new downtown arena:  "It would be like
asking Ford and GM to get together and build a car.  But can it
be done?  Absolutely" (K.C. STAR, 3/16)....Tucson Mayor George
Miller will abandon his quest for a downtown stadium for the
Diamondbacks and White Sox if Pima County supervisors continue to
oppose the project (ARIZONA REPUBLIC, 3/15).
