AD ROUND-UP: A BIG YEAR FOR BUD COULD GET BIGGER WITH PENS

     Bud Ice will offer new spots featuring a singing penguindescribed as "nonchalant yet humorously menacing."  The spotswill air in March on local and cable sports programming,including ESPN (AD AGE, 3/11 issue)....USA TODAY ranked the mostpopular ads since last May.  McDonald's is most effective, thanksin part to its Michael Jordan spots, with a 47% effectivenessrating.  Budweiser's "Frogs" was the most popular campaign, with47% reporting they liked the spots (Dottie Enrico, USA TODAY,3/11).  Budweiser also finished at the top of Video StoryboardTests' annual poll, with its animal-themed spots getting thecredit.  McDonald's was second (WALL STREET JOURNAL, 3/11).....The first Mountain Dew commercial featuring Andre Agassi airstomorrow night during the premiere of "The Dana Carvey Show" onABC.  The spot will feature Agassi, "a self proclaimed 'DewDude,'" bungee jumping, repelling over a cliff, sky skiing androllerblading through the desert (Mountain Dew).  Agassi's spotwas previewed on "Extra" last night ("Extra"3/10)...."Entertainment Tonight" went behind the scenes for an adshoot for All Sport sports drink with 49ers Steve Young and JerryRice ("ET," 3/8).
