CULVERHOUSE ESTATE MAY HELP PAY FOR NEW BUCS STADIUM

The family of late Bucs Owner Hugh Culverhouse has offered
to help pay for a new stadium for the team, letting Hillsborough
County assume a $20M obligation new Owner Malcolm Glazer that
would help fund part of the project. As part of his deal for the
team, Glazer would owe the estate an additional $20M if the team
gets a new stadium in Tampa. Meanwhile, as the team-imposed
March 1 deadline for a financing deal approaches, local officials
are believed to be focusing on using a hotel-motel tax that funds
the Tampa-Hillsborough County Convention Center and applying it
to the stadium (Joe Henderson, TAMPA TRIBUNE, 2/28).
