     DIANE BOYER, Dir of PR for the Univ. of MN Women's Athletic
Department is leaving to join the PR firm of  Shandwick USA
(Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE, 2/16)....Former NFL linebacker DREW
MAHALIC was named Exec Dir of the Portland Metropolitan Sports
Authority.  Mahalic had been working for Portland State
University on the Endangered Youth Urban Project (Portland
OREGONIAN, 2/15)....Arnold Palmer Golf has named CLAIRE BRADFORD
as VP/Sales and Staff Services and ROBERT WINSKOWICZ as VP/Sales
and Marketing (GOLF WORLD, 2/9 issue)....St. Paul-based Ecolab
Inc., a supplier of cleaning and sanitation services, announced
they will form a joint venture with OSCAR ROBERTSON to bid on
assets of Orchem Inc., a Cincinnati specialty chemical company
that recently filed for bankruptcy.  Robertson was CEO and
majority owner of Orchem, but resigned after to "avoid a
potential conflict of interest" (Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE, 2/16).
