Fox's "New York Undercover" March 21 (USA TODAY, 2/14). ....Jim
Produfoot of the TORONTO STAR notes that Penguins Owner HOWARD
BALDWIN "has to hope foreign and video sales save his $40 million
movie, Sudden Death" (TORONTO STAR, 2/14)....No-shows for the
Cowboys' visit to the White House yesterday included TROY AIKMAN,
MICHAEL IRVIN, and Super Bowl MVP LARRY BROWN.  In his remarks,
President Clinton said of Coach BARRY SWITZER:  "He was second-
guessed so much, for a while I thought people had mistaken him
for the president" (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 2/14)....HARLAN COBEN's
novel on the sports biz, "Deal Breaker," has been nominated for
the Mystery Writers of America's Edgar Award (Bantam Doubleday
Dell)....TIME magazine reports that JAMES SEARS BRYANT of
Oklahoma, legal counsel to the NBA and NFL players unions, is
begin recruited by U.S. Sen. BOB KERREY to run for the Senate
(TIME, 2/19).
