 described by MORLEY SAFER as one "fraught with fraud, theft and
sleaze."  TED WILLIAMS was featured, with Safer noting that he
makes more "with the stroke of a pen than he did with the stroke
of a bat" (CBS, 2/11)....JACK NICKLAUS is expected to announce
today that this year's U.S. Open will be his last, he will skip
the British Open, and play in his final PGA Championship (N.Y.
TIMES, 2/11).... Magic star PENNY HARDAWAY is profiled in this
weekend' USA WEEKEND under "Anfernee 'Penny' Hardaway epitomizes
the way basketball is played today -- and how $70 million
superstars are born" (USA WEEKEND, 2/9-11 issue).
